As the birth of Vicki’s first grandchild approached and Covid kept them apart, she searched for a special way to welcome him into the world.

Inspired by Eliza Lee Follen’s 1832 poem, Oh Mother How Funny has been passed down in her family for four generations as a bedtime lullaby. Now the sweet words have been preserved in a board book and illuminated by Kristie’s creative vision and unique illustrative style.

Oh Baby It's a Clear Lake is Vicki and Kristie’s second board book. This story dips into a child's discovery and joy of what a day spent at the lake brings! One Clear Lake, in particular, is so very important to Kristie's family with adventures and sweet memories of sun-filled days exploring feathered and furry neighbors, learning to swim and sail, home-made treats, art & music in the park, and strolling the shops of main street. Simple summer pleasures shared together in a special place.
