CREATIVE PARTNERS
Illustrator, Kristie Kaiser Frudden
Kristie taught Elementary Art in Minnesota public schools for 25 years before retiring early to dedicate her time fully to her own art practice. Working with young children for many years offered her the opportunity to more fully understand the impact that art and illustration can have on the development of literacy skills and the imagination of a young child. Completing her MFA in Illustration at MCAD further developed her illustrative style and love of illuminating the written word. Kristie continues to explore and celebrate the relationships connecting us and our natural world with her art.
After years of illustration work, the opportunity to create the art for Oh Mother How Funny and Oh Baby It’s A Clear Lake children's board books was especially important to Kristie Kaiser Frudden as she welcomed her first grandchild, Olivia, and became a grandmother. |
Author, Vicki Toups Sheaffer
Vicki’s personal love for writing and journaling began at an early age. She has used her business degree and entrepreneurial spirit to undertake a number of business-related projects. Vicki wrote material and did performance work as a member of a morning radio show trio, she writes online articles, and blog posts, and created a marketing presence for newborn ID bands. She is now focusing her love of poetry and story-telling on writing for children.
Oh Mother How Funny was inspired by a very old poem, turned family lullaby, and is author Vicki Toups Sheaffer’s first board book. This book is especially close to her heart as it is dedicated to her first grandchild, Jack. Oh Baby It's A Clear Lake is her second children's board book. |
